Vetafarm Calcivet – Calcium & Broad Spectrum Antibiotic for Birds

Vetafarm Calcivet is a versatile bird supplement providing calcium and chlortetracycline hydrochloride, a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against E. coli (Enteritis), Mycoplasma (Chronic Respiratory Disease), and Chlamydia (Psittacosis). Ideal as a front-line antibiotic when a specific diagnosis is uncertain, Calcivet can also be used preventatively for psittacosis.

Directions for Use:

In Water:

• Parrots: 5.0 g/L (1 tsp per quart)

• Finches/Pigeons: 0.5 g/L (½ tsp per quart)

In Dry Food:

• Ornamental birds: 5.0 g/kg (½ oz per 6 lb)

In Hand-Rearing Food:

• Ornamental birds: 10 g/kg (1 oz per 6 lb)

Administration Notes:

• Remove all unmedicated water sources

• Remove sources of grit and calcium during treatment

• Provide fresh medicated water daily for 5–7 days (or 45 days for psittacosis)

• Use glass, glazed, or plastic containers

• Level spoon enclosed holds approximately 1 g
