Help Eclectus Ark Fund Energy-Efficient Mini Splits

Help us provide safer, more reliable year-round heating and cooling for the birds of Eclectus Ark.

Eclectus Ark operates three 30' × 60' metal buildings used for bird care, food preparation, storage, and daily operations. Oklahoma's intense summer heat and winter cold make dependable climate control essential for the birds, our caregivers, and the equipment that supports our daily work.

Our Goal: 12 Energy-Efficient Mini Splits

Our facility upgrade calls for 12 total mini-split systems across our three buildings.

Each complete mini split costs approximately $429.

Rather than relying on one large heating and cooling system, we are installing multiple smaller units throughout the buildings. This provides greater flexibility and important redundancy. If one unit needs service or stops working, other units can continue providing heating or cooling so the birds are not dependent on a single system.

Two 12,000 BTU mini splits have already been purchased for Building 2 through a personal donation, and we are asking our supporters to help us continue the project.

Building 2: Our Food Production Center

Building 2 also houses three freeze dryers, a large dehydrator, a commercial refrigerator, and a commercial freezer. This equipment produces substantial heat, making dependable climate control especially important.

We will perform much of the installation in-house, which is expected to save thousands of dollars compared with hiring outside installation labor.
