Parrot-Safe Dandelion Root Tea

Ingredients:

• 1–2 teaspoons dried dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale), cut and sifted

• 1 cup warm water (not boiling – around 100–110°F / 37–43°C, safe to touch)

Steps:

1. Place the dried dandelion root pieces in a cup or bowl.

2. Pour warm (not hot) water over the root.

3. Let steep for 7–10 minutes until the water takes on a light golden-brown color.

4. Strain out the root pieces.

5. Serve cooled tea in a shallow dish, or drizzle lightly over chop for enrichment.
